I suffered a knee MCL sprain in beginning of August that I’ve been struggling with. I believe i probably reinsured it twice since then in late august and early September. It was grade 2 on MRI (partial tear) but i haven’t really had any instability. I’m still wearing the brace most of the day and night. My symptoms have finally been improving. I still have minor pain some of the time and during certain movements. How long should i wear my brace? I don’t want to wear it too long. But my...

Hello everyone, I've already made a post in the general category, but afterwards figured this one might be more appropriate/have a higher chance at getting a response, so my apologies if this counts as spam. As for the problem, my left knee uncomfortably snaps every time I squat/flex my knee with an extended lower back. Its not immediately painful on its own, but after 20 pops or so in a row it starts to ache behind the knee. My physiotherapist assigned me some hip/knee stretches and...

Hi guys, As the title suggests, my left knee/fibular head pops every time I try to squat/flex my knee with an anterior pelvic tilt. Its not immediately painful on its own, but after 25-30 pops in a row it starts to ache. See below for a gif of the aforementioned snap, taken sitting on the floor with an extended lower back, dragging my heel towards my torso. If I release my lower back and do the same motion the popping disappears. My physiotherapist has given me some hip/knee...

Thanks for the input. I don't know what you mean by recording the data. My data are recorded every sessions for later review and comparison with the Polar software. The Polar cardio watch is a high-tech product. I think he HR readings are accurate, but a condition like arrhythmia and/or AF may not yield a realistic interpretation of the nominal data. The machine calculates the calories expenditure based on the nominal HR, without being able to tell whether the HR is due to the real load on...

Maybe the signal to your watch is playing up? Record it on your device if that is possible and see if it is a temporary glitch or in fact the HR jumping. I think it unlikely to jump like that on the Beta Blocker but you should check that with the cardiologist.

I am 79, on beta blocker for occasional arrhythmia and AF in the past, but otherwise in excellent health . I windsurf and run about 4-5 km, 3 x week. My doctor said I can, indeed I must continue to exercise. As expected, the first effect of the beta blocker is that it depresses the resting h.r. which is now down to 50-55 bpm, from 70-75 before going on medication. Before going on beta blocker, my hr was 125-130 bpm while training at 70% of my age-adjusted maximum. Now it is around 100 bpm...

Business Diversification Independent practices must find ways to diversify in order to create new opportunities and attract new patients. Fast Co. reports that the value of the wellness industry has increased by over 12.5% in the past two years and is now worth $4.2 trillion. Specifically, cash-pay healthcare services will continue to grow. Therapy providers who would like to remain in private practice over the next decade must start thinking strategically about how to specialize, diversify...

I am a 21 year old female. I used to be anorexic and bad a pretty bad exercise addiction - running around 20km daily. Now running about 7 km a day and have lately been feeling like there is some sort of strange feeling in my knees, hard to describe, same creakiness as you would expect with the worn out door hinges? I don't have any major pain in knees after running, just a constant dull ache thats worse with squatting and going up and down stirs - but if I place my hand on the knee cap and...

Hi rainbowdragon008, foot mechanics are rarely the result of the foot itself. The way you land and move through the arches of the feet depends a lot on how the spine, hip, knee and ankle move.. and how they might differ from side to side. If one foot is 'flatter' than the other it is most likely that this just shows that the rolling through the flatter foot is really a collapsing of the arch. If that beings to cause local foot issues then the arch supports can help reduce excessive rolling etc....

Hi there! Thanks for the help with my last post; I’m hoping you can help me again I’ve had flat feet for years, and have used the same (custom) inserts for a number of years as well. My right foot is flatter than the left, so the insert is also larger Recently, I started doing physio exercises to try and see if I could correct things, ie, calf and foot stretches, and towel exercises. I also noticed, a bit over a week ago (I noticed when lying on my back with my knees raised that my...
