Hi billclinton854, It seems like you may have lesioned your muscles. It may have been muscle tears that may have not healed properly. A proper, progressive muscle strengthening program may help you with your problem although a great amount of time is passed since the beginning. Generally a muscle program starts of with isometric contractions, then concentric contractions followed by eccentric contractions. Finally plyometrics and core stability may be added. This should be integrated with...

Hi Kazordon, I don't think it is a problem of muscles to strengthen. As the hip exercises didn't work, it would be an option to work on your low back and see if specific movements make it better or worse . If so, then a specific posture and exercise program can be applied otherwise the problem should be searched somewhere else

Hi, not exactly what you are looking for, but I had a colleague with a pre-reg Masters from the UK. He had to work for a year prior to his application being accepted by the Physio Board of NZ Cheers, Fyzzio

Hey everyone! This is my first post here, I am posting as I have been having trouble with my knee and just wondering if anyone might know the problem. I am 21 years old 70kg and relatively fit and athletic. November 2019 I fell off my bike and grazed up my knee, particularly the left knee. This is when I first noticed what sounds like a creaking/crunching noise when I squat. initially it was only occasional, now it is pretty much all the time, however I have no pain actually associated with the...

Hey everyone, I have been living in New Zealand for a bit more than 2 years and thinking of relocating to Europe ( I am German citizen), to finish my studies as I am not too happy with my current job situation in NZ. I am considering to do the Master of Rehabilitation sciences and Physiotherapy in Belgium (with university Antwerp or Leuven), is there anyone with this degree who is working in New Zealand or Australia currently and could share some experiences regarding the registration...

Hi everyone, My neck keeps getting bocked. 1-2x a year. The axis of my head ends up shifted to the LEFT above the axis of my body (unfortunately the pictures don't seem to be loading) and I can't tilt my NECK to the RIGHT (I can tilt my head a little bit), it just doesn't go further and I feel a sharp pinch around the part where the middle of the trapezius attaches to the vertebral column on the SAME side, ie. the RIGHT side. I can turn my head left and right, but I also feel a less intense...

Hi Bellona, Thank you so much for your help again, I really appreciate you helping me with my knee pain I will try the new 2 exercises you gave me, and I will let you know how I go When I get my knee pain resolved, which I can already see its improving, will it possible to get some advice on how to keep my lower back healthy and strengthened?, as I had some lower back pain in the past, which started back in 2010 due to sitting too long on the computer. Will it be possible to contact...

Hey everyone, I'm an almost graduated physiotherapist (one last oral defence this November) looking to work in Utah. I've read a little about the NPTE and payment for FSBPT but I'm wondering if anyone here knows or hospitals, aged care or private practices that may take on a new graduate and sponsor my work visa. I really really want to work in the US, particularly Utah and even if I was hired as a Physio aid, I would even do that. Thanks for the help! Jeff

Hi Gayan, The improvements you've described are remarkable, given the short span you've been doing the exercises. I'd like to add 2 more exercises for you. 1) In a crook lying position, place a pillow between your knees and press it for 5-10 secs 10 reps. (Link below for reference) Hooklying Hip Adduction Isometrics - YouTube 2) In crook lying, tie your thighs together with a belt / cloth and attempt to open legs for 5-10 secs 10 reps. (Link below for reference) Isometric Hip...

Hi Bellona, I am glad to hear you are keeping well and safe Improvements I am seen are, I can bend with my knees further close to the ground, without PAIN, I can kneel using the bottom part below my knees, also, when getting up from the floor, I feel smoother, also doing the Supine Bridge where I lift my back area, there is no more discomforts or pain in my left leg. I do supine bridge as a personal interest, this is not something you gave me I am just wondering for my interest,...

Hi, looking for any help suggestions about what's turning out to be a really long term calf issue... A few months ago I was just doing a normal run (one of two or three I did a week at anywhere around 4"30 for a total of 25k per week) and felt something in my right inner calf. Stupidly, I kept going and did another two runs until I woke up the next day and figured something was properly wrong. It didn't sort itself (though it did get slightly better) so I went to see a physio and he gave...

Hello Gayan, I am keeping well and safe too, Thank you for asking ☺. I'm glad to know you can see improvements, could you please let me know what exactly are the improvements you feel (pain, flexibility, etc.)? Since the exercises I asked you to perform were basic ones, the intention of those were to improve your basic knee muscles strength. We can work on further exercises depending on your current condition. You take care too and keep well.

Hi Bellona :), Thanks for your kindness and caring, and I am keeping safe, I hope you are too :) Regarding your question (do you keep your left knee / hip bent more often than the right?), I do not keep left knee / hip bent more often than the right I am doing the exercises you have told me, and I can see some improvements, but I still cannot bent all the way to the ground, until I can touch the floor Is it necessary to see a Physio for some physical treatment?, or should I just...
