This is a part-time self-employed position to provide paediatric physiotherapy to children with disabilities and special needs to children from babies to 18years old. We can currently offer 9 hours depending on your availability, the hours we need covering are 9am-6pm Wednesday or Thursday. We are fairly flexible and understanding of people’s other commitments. The post holder needs to be comfortable with working autonomously and manging their own case load. They will be expected to assist the therapy team in the efficient running of the clinic and help to maintain a professional patient service. We provide some funding towards annual CPD training. We currently offer appointments from 9:30am-5:00pm Tuesday – Friday.Tiny Tim’s Children’s Centre is an established registered charity which provides free treatments to children and young people with disabilities, health problems and special needs. The therapies we currently offer at the centre are remedial & neuromuscular massage, Bowen, reflexology, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Since we opened in 1997 the demand for services continues to grow year on year, we have recently had a significant increase in demand for our occupational therapy service resulting in this position becoming available.Qualifications, Skills and AbilitiesThe post holder will be able to prove they have experience in a similar role within a clinical/professional environment:• BSc Hons. in Physiotherapy• Membership of professional body appropriate to position (HPCP)• Acceptable level of individual professional liability insurance with policy premiums paid up to date.• Proof of recent Certified Professional Development.• Level 2 in Emergency first aid at work certificate- would be an advantage but not essential • Experience in a paediatrics environment would be an advantage • An ability to plan ahead for anticipated requirements.• Experience to deliver a professional service with an understanding of client expectation.• Experience to cope with children and families who present challenging and emotional situations whilst keeping their professional and private life separate.• Experience to be a flexible team member when responding to problems and adjusting the service delivery for unexpected customer demand as appropriate • Experience working as a team member and an ability to influence and positively motivate colleagues.Person SpecificationThe post holder will need to be able and confident to work within a well-established team and be:• To apply qualifications and experience gained in “the real world”. For example, some families have very challenging children. • Have a positive and caring outlook towards children with disabilities and special needs.• Be able to work as a team member. • Be self-motivating and have an ability to positively influence others.• Ability to cope with children and families who present challenging and emotional situations whilst keeping their professional and private life separate.• Have a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation.
