Hello,

Brand new to the forum and I have just an otherwise simple question, but I could not find a direct answer elsewhere. I will be attending to school to become an RMT later this year and I want to strengthen my wrists/hands. As a musician, I was taught to avoid excessive joint bends to alleviate the ware and tear on the tendons. I've since developed a very isometric routine to work my hands in different ways.

My question: Are exercises like grips, wrist curls, or any other exercise involving flexion of the joints safe for prolonged training? Currently, I have no hand issues and am active in the gym; I am not looking at light rehabilitation exercises, but strength training for longevity.

Thanks in advance,

Paul
