Re: crediential evaluation
As you are on H4 VISA, I am guessing that you will be planning to stay here and work as a Physical Therapist. If this is the case then you will have to go for the credential evaluation with TOEFL.
You are not allowed to work on H4 VISA so you will have to get H1B VISA to work as a PT. And the requirement for H1B VISA is to have TOEFL (i.e. 26 on speaking section) and then only you can apply for NPTE and work as a Physical Therapist.
Hope this would be helpful.
By the way, your post should be under following forum:
Physiotherapists Working Overseas / International Accreditation / World Physio News - The Physio Forum - the home of online physiotherapy discussion
Good Luck.
Re: crediential evaluation
very nice and useful post.I really like it.
Re: crediential evaluation
I'm a PT from Illinois, USA. I completed my bachelors from India and applied for the canadian credentialing process last year. I received my report which states that i lack credits in
1)research
2) Professional and integrated practice
I am eligible for PLAR. I need to apply for these soon but i would like to get in touch with someone who has been in a similar/near similar situation.
How much time does this take and would i be able to take these online?
Also the second option for Professional and integrated practice is it fulfilled by doing the self study module for PT practice in Canada?
Any information would be helpfu. Thank You.
Ann

Re: crediential evaluation
hi all,
just to ask you guys a question. im a PT graduate from India. Already in US on family green card so no worries about immigration. Only question - i've done my evaluation with FCCPT and I'm lacking nearly 42 General education credits out of 60 and lacking just 7 professional credits out of 90. Is this evaluation same for all PT's coming from India. Do they lack these many credits in General education?
Hoping for a constructive discussion.
Thanks.
