hello all,
Is there any physiotherapy treatment for migrain head ache???
There are many treatments available for migraine. The important issue is working out what is provoking the attack. This can range from cervical dysfunction, stress, hormonal imbalance, diet, smell etc. Physiotherapy should be able to deal very well with the identification of the cause, much of the treatment and also assist in the appropriate referral when necessary.
In my experience migrane is likely to be multifactorial and require a combined approach often with two therapeutic approaches.
Hi
There were few treatments mentioned in the literatures and few of the techniques are:
Physical therapies:
Biofeedback:
a method of educating your body to induce certain responses and thus control your symptoms. Requires training and practise. Good results in children.
Alexander Technique:
postural re-integration and (un)learning, with particular emphasis on relationship between head and neck. Requires training and practise.
Relaxation:
anything that helps you lower stress levels and encourage relaxation can be beneficial. This may be deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation (as taught at ante-natal classes), yoga, meditation or just taking a few minutes to yourself
If you are still interested in this topic i can get you more details after a laborious search in literatures
Cheers!
