Mid leg Tibia pain

Hi I am wondering if anybody can give me some answers to the following.

About 3 years ago I injured my middle shin(Tibia bone) badly, I ran down a hill at quite a speed and didnt see a small tiny wooden block fence in the shape of a an octagon.
I ran straight into this and went flying over it, after this I had a lot of pain, couldnt really walk for a few weeks without trememdous pain, had a huge swelling and yellow bruising the size of a tennis ball!

I didnt go to a doctor, but I should have.

Anyway since then it seemed to clear up, and now I have a small dent and scar from the injury although last year I noticed a clicking in the leg when I moved it maybe for a few weeks or more.
Then recently I have had pain, not severely but if I push on it, and in certain positions such as crossing the legs, I feel a huge strain on the front with pain. It feels delicate.

So I think I should see a doctor soon if it persists, is there anything to suggest it could be? Could it be a small fracture? etc.
