Does anyone have experience with registration in New Zealand as a foreign physio? I'm in the middle of a long application process (assessment exams and assignments) and I'd like to get in touch with physio's who had (or have) the same probs.
Cheers!

Hy Judy,
I've applied for registration in NZ too, intending to use that registr. for australia via Tasman Aus. pact . But anyway I see you've to sit exams etc. The other day I called the NZphysio board if everybody has to sit exams and they told me that's not always needed. Could you fill me in a bit more about those exams etc. Much obliged
Cheers Marcel (ps I'm a dutchie 2)
By the way, the address of the Registration Board has changed, but I don't know to what.

Eline :
Does the Physio. Board in NZ asks you to provide evidence of English standard 7.5 ielts ?
cheers
Emad
Hello,
Yes, the nZ PhysioBoard does require you to prove your english language skills.
IELTS with an avarage of no lower that 7.5 and no score under 7 or TOEFL (and I'm not sure of th escore. IELTS has a website you can google and there you can find a lot of information on the test. It gives you options for traiing and that is well worth it! PLease do those training things cause it will make it very clear what to write in the writing test, for example.
Good luck, you can do it!!!!!!
Kind Regards, Lien
Lien ;
In my view , Academic 7.5 IELTS score is not practical . Even I think native English speakers can not get that score . The more interesting that speech therapists are required to get at least 8 IELTS score . So if you really got that English standard , I think that is interesting !!!!
cheers
Emad
Hello Emad,
It is a bit high in my eyes too but still that are the requierements of the board. Als, if you follow the training and help that IELTS offers online it is not that difficult. I managed to get it and I feel my english is not perfect. But hey, I also have heared stories of people who tried and tried and failed the stupid test like 5 or 6 times. And actually, they had a story on it in the newpapaer here in Wellington about a teacher who needed it for his registration. He failed to get the right score for like 3 times nad then one of the teachers from the school he was a teacher aid at, tried and she failed too. She was a Kiwi! Yeah mate the pain we go throughto get what we want...
Hang in there!
Kind Regards,
Eline
