Sports Therapy
Hello
I am considering a career in Sports therapy and I have applied to do a MSc. in sports therapy from the London Metropolitan University.
I do not have a degree in Physiotherapy so I was wondering if there was a lot of career opportunities for sports therapists out there. Also whether any body knows whether I can apply for work in other countries such as Australia and New Zealand?
Thank You for any help. :p

Re: Sports Therapy
Hi there,
I come from a sports therapy background and have an MSc sports injury (sports medicine), but i have found it very difficult to gain proper employment in sports therapy, the problem is thats its still not recognised by the public, and HPC registration has also failed to have been reached yet. I have also previously contacted both NATA (National athletic trainers association) in the US, and also CATA (Canadian athletic training association), in which the info i recieved from them is that new legislation means that to work as an athletic trainer in their country you will have to have studied an acredited course taught by one of their own establishments, i.e. degree or post grad course in athletic training. Unfortunately there are plenty of sports therapy courses being taught at uni's all across the country, but the jobs are not there for graduates in sports therapy. What is your undergrad degree in? you would be better applying for an MSc in physiotherapy.
Hope this helps?
