Inauguration of Assoc. of Chartered Physios. in Defence Medicine

This Special Interest Group (SIG) will be launched in March 2001 at the Annual Physiotherapy Conference (UK). The groups purpose is to provide:
- A Forum to promote the exchange of ideas between those interested in physio
- Develop clinical guidlines and standards of professional practice
- Promote and facilitate post-graduate education
- Promote discussion on workforce issues
- Encourage research and development
- Develope and maintain links with other organisations in the UK and overseas.
- Promote the benefits of physiotherapy in the defence medical services.

Your views on the future development of this group would be welcome.

I'm a chartered physio and I've been working with a unit of Royal Marines for the past two years.I think a SIG would be extremely useful,reflecting issues specific to physiotherapy in the Defence environment.
