hand ligament damage
hi,
In march this year, I fell backwards off my trailer at work, whilst off loading, landing on my pelvis, back, and causing sprains to both wrists, the left, after several x-rays,
mri scans and consultations has been diagnosed as being a torn ligament between the scaphoid, and another bone. The problem is, due to the pain, I have been unable to use my hand and as a result I have lost a great deal of muscle in my arm and shoulder. I want to get back to playing rugby and as it is not quite as painfull, I wanted to do some arm curls etc to bring back some shape. Would this cause any further damage and should I not bother, or would it be ok. I'm waiting to see an expert on hands at Derby at the moment.

Re: hand ligament damage
hey ian..
from ur msg it can be drawn that u can work out to strengthen ur shoulder and arm muscles. What u have to keep in mind is that..
1. Support your wrist with a wrist and thumb brace
2. Progress gradually and
3. Don't exert ur wrist to the point of pain
Consult with the practitioner in Derby.
Wish u quick recovery:)
