ongoing pain in leg since compound tibia tibula fracture

I was run over in a hit run in Feb 2007, I suffered a compound multiple fracture to my tibia & fibula, I had a exteranal fixator for about 4-5 months but went on to have an internal nail fitted along with abone graft from my hip. I have now had all the internal metalwork removed and after a total of five operatoins wil leg still bloody hurts. I can walk unaided but after 500 m my ankle swells up & becomes painful, it aslo aches in this damp autumn weather. Is it likey to ever improve I? lost a lot of flesh in the acident which has covered over with a skin graft from my hip. A did a six month pyhsio course last year. Mark
