Inguinal pain after sitting
My wife is experiencing right> left inguinal area burning following sitting. The burning radiates into bilateral hip adductor area. She also reports right foot pain after weight bearing. Spinal palpation doesn't elicit pain or radiculation. SLR and sharp sensation are unremarkable, active spinal flexion and extension is unremarkable. She hasn't responded to sacral mobilization, spinal treatment, soft tissue mobilization, specific active muscle stretching, segemental spinal stability, walking, acupuncture or ultrasound-ice contrast to the inguinal ligaments. Symptoms incurred insidiously about a month ago. However we were intamate the night before.
Anyone have a clue?
Re: Inguinal pain after sitting
bilateral burning really does sound like it would be coming from the lumbar spine - perhaps get some investigations. Have you tried a mckenzie approach to the spine? it's worth a go if it's been a month and she isn't getting better. It sounds like she's already had alot of treatements - all of those in a month? how long has she had each treatment for... perhaps a longer course of one of those treatments would show a positive result.
sounds very interesting, sorry to not be huge help, let me know if you work out what it is.
Re: Inguinal pain after sitting
A few questions:
Have you sent her off for any investigations at the moment?
Is sitting the only trigger for the pain, or do any other activities bring it on? How intense is the pain, and if she stands up does it go away?
Does she play any sports?
Is the bilateral sensations into her adductor region just pain or does she also experience any paraesthesia?
Has she noticed any bladder or bowel control changes?
Is the foot pain in a dermatomal pattern?
Does a pelvic floor lift change symptoms at all?
Cheers,
Quickstart.
