How do you promote yourself
Hi,
My names Daniel and I’m looking to start my own physio therapy business. At the moment I work for a small business but I’m thinking of starting out by myself...a big step I know.
I’m just looking for advice, tips and ideas and to meet like minded people.
Do you create your own professional website or advertise in yellow pages?
after read bout the yellow pages i've been put off!
website versus yellow pages
I’ve started putting a few things in place already.
Re: How do you promote yourself
Hey mate, good luck to you. I'v not started my own business however these are my thoughts on advertising yourself and they may be useful.
How about both? definately a good idea to have a website with a pic and bio of yourself etc so people can see and relate to you. But alot of people use the yellow pages as their primary source of finding services. That said - one of the best things you can do is become buddy's with the local referrers, Gp's and what not.
A friend of mine told me the first physio practice he set up in Taupo he invited the health community to a cricket game that he set up so he could meet them all and make those contacts.
Thats a NZ approach i suspect but hopefully theres something in there that could be helpful
Re: How do you promote yourself
or maybe u could post an ad on a local newpaper, or even better print some flyers (i did it myself and it works a lot!!!!) and deliver them via post mail on locations u interested (that means not only near your clinic but in nearby towns)......As far as pudding said, its very rational to meet with the health community in the first place, but my little experience on private practicing (1 and half year already) says that some M.D. or Gps demands some percentage on profits, if u got a deal with them, and they refer to u many patients...Dont know if this happens in other countries, but trust me it is so USUAL here in Greece.....Sad to say and admit that, but we really SUCK in this aspect!!! i mean in my country...
