is this normal?
this weekend it will be a month since i sustained an avulsion fracture off the Anterior superior iliac spine whilst sprinting during a football match, it was caused by the sartorius muscle. the past few days my leg as felt fine, but now the muscle is very sore, im pretty sure its the same area of the leg as the sartious muscle is, so im just wondering if this is normal and is the muscle healing? because when i tore my hamstring shortly before it healed the pain got worse. so is this normal for the muscle to get sore while healing? i appreciate any help, thanks :)

Re: is this normal?
It's not generally normal for a muscle to get sore while healing... but the pain will come and go depending on the demand that you place on the muscle. The amount of pain will let you know if your damaging or if it's ok to do that level of activity.
Have you checked a picture of where the sartorius sits to see if it is the same part of the leg? also did you have a surgery to fix the avulsion? and what kind of activity are you currently doing?

Re: is this normal?
Nope i didnt require surgery, but i have to go back to the fracture clinic in 3 weeks to see how well the bone as healed, nd yeah its the sartious . in terms of activity i just attend school and have been relaxing at home. i started to put ice on the affected area, does deep freeze rub help the same as ice?

Re: is this normal?
yea they work about the same. The fracture clinic should have told you how much stress to put through the area initially - if you work it too hard you may make your avulsion not reduce and heal. For the next 3 weeks you should be taking it pretty easy so as not to damage the avulsion. - your not running around at school aye?
