Know a good book/resource to improve my cardioresp PT knowledge?
I really would like to know more about cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. I'm looking for a good resource book, comparable to Magee or Kisner in MSK.
I'm specifically interested in the following:
1. Treatment ideas for cardiorespiratory PT - something beyond percussions and chest vibrations
2. The physiology/pathophysiology of the cardiorespiratory system
3. PT treatments for common cardiorespiratory conditions encountered in intensive and critical care
Any help regarding good resources would be appreciated!
Re: Know a good book/resource to improve my cardioresp PT knowledge?
The book I use and is prescribed to students in NZ (or certainly was 2 years ago) is Pryor and Prasad's physiotherapy for respiratory and cardiac problems.
It's brilliant. And does have alot of what your talking about. Althogh I'm sure that there will be more specific books for ICU care, though the chapters in pryor and prasad on ICU aren't bad.

... or this one:
Physiotherapy in Respiratory Care: An evidence-based approach to respiratory and cardiac management: A Problem-solving Approach by Alexandra Hough
This is the title of the Pryor book:
Physiotherapy for Respiratory and Cardiac Problems: Adults and Paediatrics (Physiotherapy Essentials) by Jennifer A. Pryor PhD MBA MSc FNZSP MCSP Dr. and Ammani S Prasad GradDipPhys MCSP
