Re: Hip Labral Tear Recovery
2-3 months is considered a normal recovery time for a post op hip labral repair. That said some people take 6 months and all need a lot of lumbar and lower limb stabilization work/exercise. Have a bit of pain at 2-3 weeks post op is normal but be careful to listen to the progression as advised by your surgeon as he/she knows what it looked like in there.
Re: Hip Labral Tear Recovery
It doesn't mean you have damaged it, it just means you haven't finished healing yet! And yes, 3 months is about the minimum for that recovery period. It's perfectly normal.
Re: Hip Labral Tear Recovery
hello. i was recently diagnosed with hip labral tear and doctor recommended arthroscopic surgery to treat tear, cyst formed due to tear. i was researching website for this surgery and saw how they suture torn labrum back to bone. i'm wondering, is suture only thing that will be holding labrum to bone? or suture just brings labrum back to bone so that body can reattach labrum back to bone? If suture is only thing that is holding it, wouldn't labrum get torn again eventually (like how cloth can get torn away if two pieces are sawed)? Also, i read how this surgery is fairly new surgery and i read so many peoples who suffers a lot even long after the tx. What happens if you don't get surgery? is living with some pain only thing that is bad, or will i have any big problem like arthritis or something in the future? if you can answer any of my questions (more the better), that will be very much helpful.
