EMG measurment in retraining VMO

I am interested in the use of EMG using surface electrodes for the assessment and training of VMO in cases of maltracking and post knee surgery. Does anyone have any experience or references that I may find useful? I am also interested to know if electrical stimulation combined with EMG is of value. Thanks for any help.

Try chiroweb.com they have some art. on the subj. in their search option type rehab. emg or somet. like it.
Elektroth. has a value in the sense that you can get all mot.units (i.e. musclefibers) contracting. I'm currently doing it on myself (postop. tibplat.#) Cheers Marcel

you may wish to look for any articles one Pat Cash and his rehab provided by Jenny McConnell. She uselarge amounts of dynamic EMG traingin suring his tennis comeback in the mid 90's (following knee problems). Static training is a great start but I have found combined leg press with emg, moving to jumping etc is a great way forward. Currently we combine it with leg work on a Pilates Reformer bed to get functioal movement early without the load. :-)
