Routes into Physio
Hi everyone,
I am desperately trying to get into physiotherapy. I have been to Uni once before doing something unrelated, so doing the full time degree is not really viable for me financially. Is there anything you can suggest which could help me down the physio assistants route, there dont seem to be many positions available? I am happy to relocate, just really need to get one foot in the door preferably within the NHS, but is harder than I initially thought! Also..do you need to have your cpr and manual handling to become a physio assistant as this is what one agency told me and want me to pay 200 quid for it? They say it is a legal requirement now?
Any help/advice/names of companies/links would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Routes into Physio
I would say if an agency told you you need it now then you do. Seems only reasonable as you need those for just about anything related to health these days. Not sure if there's assistant courses here in the UK (anyone know?) but it is now quite a structures course of study in Australia. Maybe you can get some local grant funding if finances are that tight.
I did a search on the web and these guys seem to run various physio assistance courses from time to time http://www.welbeing-cpd.co.uk/
Maybe drop them an email

Re: Routes into Physio
I think people who are opting physiotherapy as a career is really very good and I can say that instead of any surgical help they can able to treat people well with the instruments that are helpful in pointing the areas that needs to covered.
Thanks
