Auricular therapy
Does anyone know anything about auricular therapy or anyone who practices it? An aquaintance of mine had a course of electrical, pressure and acupuncture treatments on his ear many years ago, which successfully relieved coccyx pain. He said that it wasn't just acupuncture but was defined as 'Auricular Therapy' It sounds like there are elements of acupuncture/acupressure/reflexology, but he said the electrical treatment applied to his ear seemed quite complex.

re: Auricular therapy
Auricular therapy can be approached in the same way as acupuncture, taking into accout the anatomy etc. of the ear. The body and its organs are represented on the two auricular surfaces. The points change their location depending on the nature of the condition (acute, sub-acute, chronic/degenerative)You can do basic acup, electroacup, acupressure using a "stirrup" stud or magrain ball. I have not heard of using moxa on the ear. For further info try Linda Tagg (an AACP member) on http//www.backtowork.co.uk (she was my course tutor when I learned Basic Acup. skills)
