Re: knee pain for 2 years
Exercises can help a lot but it always depends on the kind of injury and the kind of exercises. Stretching exercises should be okay but it surely takes some time to achieve results.
Re: knee pain for 2 years
sounds like your pain has an inflammatory aspect to it. sore after rest, warms up with exercise. are you taking any anti inflammatory meds? is the knee hot, red, swollen in any way? how are you feeling generally? tired/fatigued?
Re: knee pain for 2 years
hi,
Please check for the Patellar retinacular tightness and ITB tightness which may significatly alter the joint mechanics of PF joint.Even a tight hamstring and tight tendoachilles may also contribute for the increase JRF. do exercises in CKC which is safer than OKC. REgards,

I'm assuming your diagnosis is correct.
Some things you can try:
Rolling a tennis ball up and down the outside of your leg (your iliotibial band) Keep doing your exercises and stretches as this really is the main thing that is going to help you.
Google patellofemoral taping on you tube. There are some good video instructions on there.
