Two years after an ankle fracture

I had an ankle fracture 2 years ago and underwent a surgery. 6 months ago, I got the plate and screws removed. All this time I have never run and only recently, I started slow jogging. Strangely, I feel much pain in the other leg but not in the previously fractured leg. The fractured leg is not very strong and firm though. I have been noticing this even while walking up an elevated road.

Does this have an explanation ? I suspect that I am habituated to putting all the weight on one leg rather than distributing it among the two legs since my fracture and hence the same is happening now. While running the difference in pain between the legs makes me feel that there is going to be a stress fracture in the other leg. Am I right ?
