Lower leg pain
Hi folks,
First time poster here so a big 'hello' to everyone.
OK this is my problem. I train in kickboxing approx 3 times a week and have been getting pain in my lower calf area in both legs. The pain is around the outer part of the calf about 4 or 5 inches up from my ankle. Its painfulk during training and after training its tender to the touch.
I seems to hurt more when im bouncing on my toes, like for examlke plyometric jumping or sparring. It does ease slightly during the days that im not training but comes right back when i train again.
I do have a history of knee problems (right side) and have had 4 operations over the last 7 years (3 x ACL ops and 1 x
Meniscus) however the knee isnt giving me any problems.
Just wondered what people thought this might be and how i can help myself.
Thanks in advance :)

Re: Lower leg pain
Might be your soleus (deeper calf muscle) that is used when bouncing on the feet, like in boxing. This is with the knee slightly bent. A period of eccentric strengthening for the ankle muscles usually works for resolving this. That would be my starting point.
