Private Physio Recommendations in London for Rehab Post ACL Recon Please??
Hi,
I tore my ACL in Oz last May playing footie whilst backpacking, had a recon op (hammy graft) in Brisbane in July...I am now more than 9 months post-op but what with the disruption caused by injuring myself away from home, moving back to England at the end of last year, needing to find a new job, etc. etc. my rehab is well behind schedule.
I've been referred for weekly exercise classes at the local hospital's physio department & the physios there all seem really nice & knowledgeable; however I overdid it yesterday using a leg curl machine, my hamstring (well, what remains of it) is absolute agony today (thus making me feel totally demoralised with this whole never-ending rehab hell yet again) & I am considering 'topping up' my physio time, by seeing someone privately too.
I have a very weak VMO & secondary complications due to patella femoral syndrome.
Can anyone recommend any physios in London with good experience of assisting ACL rehabbers? SE or Central would be preferable, but I can get pretty much anywhere really.
Cheers,
Paula

Can anyone please recommend a London-based physio as per my previous message? Cheers.

Hi Paula
Sorry you didn't get a recommendation. I am on the wrong side of the globe so am no use re: who to go to. However, in case you don't get a better response why don't you discuss your concerns re: slow progress, stirring up the problem etc. with the physio at the local hospital. Indicate that you are willing to get extra help and see if they can recommend someone. they should probably know who is working locally who may be good. I think it would be best to get one physio completely managing your case, who gets to know you and your knee and can guide you through the whole process.
