Possible knee ligament sprain?

Hey guys...

Let me just give you some background on my knees. I'm 21 and I have dislocated my patella three times. Once on my left knee and twice on my right knee. I dislocated my left knee about 5 years ago.

I then had arthroscopic surgery on my left knee to remove scar tissue and to remove a piece of the meniscus that fractured and splintered off.

My left knee has been actually really well.. until a few weeks ago.

I went out and got pretty drunk and did some interesting dance moves.. Anyhow, the next few days I could barely walk. It got a bit better, but everytime I squat down or go upstairs I get the pain.

It feels like its in the middle of the knee, stretching from top to bottom in a straight line.

I know I should go to a doctor but in the UK it will take weeks till I can see a physio... so just wondered if its serious enough to warrant going or not.

I have played football and stuff since that night and I managed to play fine, but it just began to hurt more afterwards again.

Any comments would be most welcome :)
