Scottish Physio wanting to work in California
Hi guys,
I am looking at moving to California with my boyfriend. I have done the 4 year Bsc course in scotland (and have worked for 3 years) and he has the 2 year masters. Does anyone have any idea if these courses meet the credentials for california? Has anyone had their courses accepted? Is there somewhere I can find out if I will meet the credentials?
Any help will me much apprecited :)

Re: Scottish Physio wanting to work in California
Hi
Im looking into doing similar and as far as i know california is the hardest state to register and work in initially. They would need you to carry out at least 6-9 months of probation and observed practice prior to be able to practice independantly. The best place to get your credentials evaluated is the FCCPT but as much as ive tried they cant give me any idea if my degree and education would fall short of what they want. They say they can offer the PLAN service which outlines, courses etc that can be done online to bring up your credits in order to apply for the NPTE. Personally my route is to apply for licence in another state, florida, NY and then once ive done a year, got my social security number, then apply and get working straight away in Cali. Hope that helps a bit...let me know if you find any pearls of wisdom!
