Splinting of foot and ankle /wrist and hand in severe dystonia
I have a patient with severe
dystonia of ankle & foot and wrist & hand. She cannot afford Botox.Literature I have read generally indicates that splinting is a waste of time however her gait is severely impeded because of the torsioning of the foot.Has anyone splinted a dystonic ankle with good outcomes? If not ,any ideas??
re: Splinting of foot and ankle /wrist and hand in severe dystonia
I know of a lady that had surgical intervention for
dystonia with very good results. I dont know the full details of what was done, I understand it is not done frequently. If you are interested, I can get the information about this patient from the physio directly involved. My email is [email protected]
