Advice on training?
Hi There,
I am starting my physiotherapy degree in September, does anyone have any general tips, things you wish you'd done or known before or during the course? Study aids, general wisdom?! I am beginning to get nervous so any help would be very gratedfully received!
Thanks!

Re: Advice on training?
Hey
I'm just finishing my 2 yr Masters in PT.
Some general tips:
- know your anatomy!
- practice all the clinical tests and treatments with your classmates. ALOT! I didn't do as much as I should have.
- Most of the stuff I learned didn't make sense until I was on placement, that's where you will learn how it all fits together. The Physiotherapy Pocket Book is the best little book ever for placements.
- Physiotherapy can be broken down to 2 main points if its stiff = stretch it/mobilise it, if its weak = strengthen it (the hard part is figuring which bits are doing what)
- Observe people everywhere and see how they move - you become a bit of a people watcher when you start but its the best way to spot movement differences.
Good luck with your course! you'll be fine :D
