just wanted to know what different protocols for post-op care!
Different hospitals I have worked in have different protocols (not neccessarily formal ones). Generally it depends on whether the procedure is planned as an open or laparoscopic procedure.
Some units will do a pre-op on all patients then see just those who have an open procdure post-op day 1. Others will just see open procdures post-op.
Pre-op physio will be an Ax of risk factors and education re post-op DB and C.
Post-op physio will be SOOB/mobilise Day 1 unless medically contraindicated, plus some DB + C.
