ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
At our hospital, some surgeons permit straight leg raise on Day1, and others do not. I am interested from a physio point of view only, and the sheer biomechanics of asking possibly below-par quads to haul up a lower leg with the torque hanging off somwhere near the repaired ligament. What do people do out there??? SLR or no SLR???
re: ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
NO SLR! static q's & closed kinetic chain flex/ext only from day 1. Use "good" leg to passively extend op knee and assist lifting leg for transfers on/off bed. If patient can maintain full extenion i.e. with no lag, then may only SLR for on/off bed transfers.
