Msc pre registration question

		Hi,

I am interested in undertaking an MSC pre registration physiotherpay degree and would like to know, realisticallly, what my chances are of being accepted onto a course at either Southampton or Brighton (Jan 2012 entry). I have just graduated (summer 2010) with a high 2:1 in Sports Science, which included a 1st class dissertation. In terms of experience I currently have one shadow day lined up within a local NHS physiotherapy department but would be looking to gain as much experience as possible before making my applications. Would also very much appreciate any advice on other ways to strengthen my application e.g. other areas to gain experience/ additional courses/ qualifications.

Thanks

Dont know about those unis but I applied to 5 unis with a 2:1 in sports science and 1 days shadowing experience and got 1 straight acceptance and 4 interview offers, so your chances on that basis are fine...
I had a part time porters job in a hospital at the time (read: eating biscuits in an old folks home) and i milked it for all it was worth in the personal statement - thats the key. With your qualifications they know you are capable of the work, you just have to convince them you a) know what you are letting yourself in for and b) are a suitable person. Physio is a social profession that needs a lot of people skills, so make it clear that you have them and you're on the right lines
