can you explain?
A friend of mine, who was recovery from hip replacement, told me this story
"2 weeks ago just as I was waking up I had a huge stretch.I pulled something in the middle of my butt at the top of my leg & something down the side of my leg.It was very painful & I was unable to weight bare & went back to using the walker to get around.I continued with my exercises with no problem. It is slowly getting better & I'm using a cane now"
She'd like some idea of what she might have done can any of you explain?
Many thanks

Re: can you explain?
Probably the first time she pull on the connective tissue in that area post her surgery. This might have caused muscles such as her piriformis (A muscle in the butt area) to fire in an abnormal way. This is a common issue whether one has had a hip replacement or not. If she gets a physio to take a look at the pelvis and gluteal region they can probably send her on her way back to where she was a little faster. Sounds like she is already on the mend :)
