over 30 applying for registration
I am 32 in the process of completing the NZ registration route. The board have now added a section where you have to provide proof of your visa application. If you are over 30 you cant apply for the working visa )the obvious and easiest route).
To apply for the work/ residence visa you need proof of a job offer- catch 22... you cant get reistration without a visa and cant get visa without a job (for which you need registration).
Has anyone found any ways round this
Thanks
Helen
Re: over 30 applying for registration
In better times you mzy have found an employer who was willing to offer you a job up front pending registration. However there remains a glut of physios looking for work in NZ. i would doubt under current conditions that you will find suvh an employer. Have. Look at seek.co.nz, this site and physiotherapy NZ. I think you will find there justisn't much going.
Re: over 30 applying for registration
Hi Helen,
funny that, but I just had to look this up for a friend from England.

Sorry, but you are completely mistaken there.
Section D
- You are obliged to tick the box for intention to work in NZ.
- You need to state you immigration status = If you have already applied for a visum, they ask you to send in proof of that application. If not, tick the NO boxes for all 3.
- They also ask you to note your planned arrival date in NZ.
It does NOT say, that you have to have applied for a visum or hold a visum before you can apply for registration.

Re: over 30 applying for registration
Hi Helen,
I agree with Fyzzio. Although I came out to NZ on a working holiday visa, I didnt actually have it when I sent for my registration. I just added in a little note stating my intentions and that I had signed up to an agency to try and help me find work. I think they are trying to cut down on people using NZ as a route to oz, therefore they want some reassurance that you actually intend to work in NZ once you get registration.
