broken leg followed by sprain
i fractured my leg in october, not sure which bone is which, it was the tibia or fibula (think thats the right names!), anyway i fractured the smaller one of the two... then in january after recovering i went over on the same leg and feared i had done the same, although i could limp. the nurse said it was just a sprain and soft tissue damage and i didnt require an x ray. my walking was okay a week or two later, however my leg still feels like its not 100%..lately i have been able to run, however after i have finished running i will get aches in my leg and it will feel weak for some time.
can anybody suggest what to do?
i havent received physio as my doctor told me that i didnt need it after my leg break. for the sprain the nurse didnt mention it.
anyone help me out please?
Re: broken leg followed by sprain
Considering your situation, it sounds like you could use some physical therapy to speed up the healing process of your injury. The nurse probably didn't mention it, because it is not a necessity for it to heal properly. However, when taking into account your level of activity, I think some physical therapy could benefit you. If you can tolerate the discomfort you are experiencing, and just work through the pain, it may not be necessary, but some pt could definitely help you speed things up.

Re: broken leg followed by sprain
thankyou for the advice. i have got a physio session in 4 weeks. however, i can now run at full speed with ease, still a little ache after i stop. one other thing, my ankle still looks swollen, anybody give me any ideas of how to reduce the swelling in the fastest possible way?
