Are there any guidelines for veteran football players ???
To make myself clear,
I'm a cardiorespiratory and I'm not familiar with sports..
Now it happens that I have a bunch (aprox. 30 people) of over 60 year's old football players. They are all veterans who continue to play hard once a week, in their local football club.
As you can imagine, most of them suffer from all types of old and new injuries. They only see a cardiologist once a year, so I'm thinking to introduce them to the great world of prevention.
Thus I was wondering if there is any football orientated guidelines for older fit adults which I can consult. I'm looking something like "keep fit, in order to play more", if you get what I mean.
P.S. I'm sorry for the informal language -its been sometime since I left academy :o
Re: Are there any guidelines for veteran football players ???
If found a great article which has lots of good information on things that older athletes can do to stay in good shape and help prevent injury. There is a lot of emphasis on maintaining cardio, joint health, and muscle health. Check out this link and see what you think...
