Arthroscopic Capsular Release Right Shoulder

So much has happened over 2yrs. I'll try and keep it short!
Had decompression surgery dec 09 and a bursectomy. I ended up with a frozen shoulder and had MUA with arthroscope in March 10. This was unsuccessful in restoring movement and remained painful. I have since had a arthroscopic capsular release with MUA about 9 days ago. They gave me a nerve block and after surgery my arm was left in traction above my head and i stayed that way overnight. As soon as my arm was taken down i could tell that the shoulder didnt feel as tight and was really happy, sore but happy! I had a very light physio session at the hospital which just involved the physio moving my arm. The surgeon said shoulder was a mess inside, a bit like i'd fallen off a large building and landed on it. No surgical repairs were required and was told no restrictions in terms of physio. I have had my first physio session today which is 9 days after the operation, all that happened was that she got me to show her my ROM and gave me a sheet of paper with more of the same exercises, and an appointment made for 31st march. Am i right to be worried that i ve not had any proper form of physio yet and that by the time next week comes it will be 15days since the op. I am petrified that the shoulder is gonna stick again. It already feels stiffer than it did last week. Any advise would be very much appreciated. Thanks x

Read through your history..
Well thereis nothing big to worry about if the exercises are done continuously as instructed by your physio... pls be little possitive with your approach towards physio treatment and exercises .. as this is the only thing that `ll help you get back your strength and range of motion (ROM).And ya pls do go for the physio follow up.. as the physio may check your range and add few more usefull exercises if in case your shoulder is doing well :)

Big thank you for your reply. I understand what you say about remaining positive and i am trying to!
After I had the first MUA, two days later, i was told the top of my right lung had collasped and because of this the physio for my shoulder couldnt be as aggressive as it should have been... for two weeks after this op i had no physio and believe this to be the reason this op failed. Turned out my lung hadnt collasped at all! Meaning i missed out on important physio which could have avoided this third operation. I feel the same thing is gonna happen again and i doubt the surgeon will do a fourth op!
I can only get my arm to 90degrees on my own... with support the am will go highet but i cant keep it there because the muscles are so wasted. If all the physio involves is being given paper with exercises on it... whats the point in visiting a physio? I dont even know if am doing the exercises right because she hasnt asked me to show her!

It`s a pleasure to respond to needy people always ..Well Is there a way that i can reach you so that i can explain and demonstrate to you the major exercises .. Its pros and cons ??
Is there a way where i can see your reports (probably via mails ) and giude you in the perfect manner ... I assure you would not need a 4th operation at all ... All your wasted muscles can really be strengthened .. What you need is serious dedication and focus on the exercises..And nothing else.. There`s nothing impossible.. you can always incresase you range of motion ...
Since ,the lack of strength is a major reason why your shoulder mobility is not more than 90degrees..Stifness can be a reason but it can be treated..

Thank you for your kind offer. I really dont think there's much i dont already know about the physio I need to aid my recovery. I am dedicated and focused. I do my exercises four to five times aday religiously to the best of my ability and as much as my limited ROM and pain will allow.
As for the stiffness and the strengthening i would agree that under normal circumstances it can be treated. I have been told that what has happened to me is highly unusual (only happens in 1% of patients.)
I have seen my doctor today who has agreed that 15days with no proper physio is unacceptable and is in the process of sorting this for me.
My previous history has shown that physio, hydrotheapy, home exercises and a mua have all been unsuccessful in improving my shoulder pain and movement. Apparently true frozen shoulders are harder to treat. Thanks again for your kind words.
