Re: Father with Hip Replacement issues
Hi,
Does he receive any Physiotherapy for his hip and leg muscles? Usually post operative pain is to be expected. if the pain is persisting for this long it is either due to poor muscle conditioning and overuse or scar tissue build up. there are many things that can be done but require a full assessment and then appropriate treatment. Do you have access to a Physiotherapist?
Thanks
Re: Father with Hip Replacement issues
Mr. Canuck is right. I would suggest you to go for isometric exercises for quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteals and abductors and find a good physio asap. And its hard to believe for me that a person 76 yr old doesn't have any osteoporosis. You should also try hot water formentation with a hot water rubber bag etc. I advice you not to do any massage without knowledge of cause of pain, coz massage hv disadvantages too. I wish a quick and happy recovery for your father. take care.
