Physio for tilted kneecaps

Hello, I am posting here to clarify some questions about a physio routine that was prescribed to me in order to correct my tilted kneecaps..
My kneecaps tilted outwards due to stress placed on them while descending during a trek 2 years ago. It left me with persistent PFPS and only recently was the tilted diagnosis made. I have been told to do various exercises as well as walk with my feet at an angle in order to rotate the tibia outwards. Surprisingly, walking with my feet pointed slightly outwards makes the pain go away but is this a legitimate treatment, or will it cause further problems?

In my opinion, you should practice a range of motion and strengthening exercises. These exercises will allow you to fully bend the knee.
