More Trans-Tasman queries...
Hey guys,
There have already been similar questions posted on here, but here's mine...
I'm a week off submitting my NZ physio application and intend on working in Australia under the Trans-Tasman route.
My concern is how secure the Trans-Tasman route is?
Does anyone know if you have to re-register with NZ each year in order to remain under the Trans-Tasman agreement to continue working in Oz?
If this is the case, how feasable is it to re-new NZ reg without actually working there? And to do it for long term???!!!
*stress*
Any advice/experience of doing this will be greatly recieved!
Many thanks,
David
Re: More Trans-Tasman queries...
Hi,
once you have gained Australian registration, you will have to renew it every year. This refers to Australian Physioboard standards, not NZ ones. Please refer to the Australian guidelines.
AHPRA - FAQ and Fact Sheets
If you wish though to keep your NZ registration, every year, you will need to undergo the process of recertification as per NZ Physioboard guidelines. But if you do not intend to ever work here, that might not be feasable.
Please also note, however, that you will have ticked the box on the NZ application form where you confirm the intend to actually work in NZ.....

Fyzzio

Re: More Trans-Tasman queries...
Hi
I am in the early stages of putting together my NZ application with a view of going to OZ at some point via the agreement. I have been qualified for 14 years and specialise in MSK. However, I still have regular contact with neuro and CVR patients. Does anybody know what information may be acceptible to submit to support my ability to assess and examine such patients? I haven't done any recent big courses- but I attend Clinical supervision and In-services.
Any info would be appreciated.
