I'm a doctor of physical therapy in the US, and I'm interested in applying for registration. My 5 year Bachelors degree was from the Philippines (I graduated in 1999). Then, I continued my studies here in the US for my Doctor of Physical Therapy. I would like to know if there's anyone who was successful with an education coming from the Philippines? My case is different in a way that I have further studies in the US. I have been practicing here since 2003.
Any inputs?

I would say that you won't have much luck in finding someone in the same situation.
The Physioboard website is really quite good and offers e.g. a self-evaluation questionnaire.
Otherwise, under FAQ, I found this:
"I completed my physiotherapy training in the Philippines, how likely am I to gain registration in New Zealand?"
The Board has received many applications from physiotherapists trained in the Philippines. To date no physiotherapist trained in the Philippines has satisfied the Board that they meet the required competencies and been granted registration in New Zealand.
The Board will accept only those applications from physiotherapists who have gained their primary or masters' physiotherapy qualifications in the Philippines who can supply:
EITHER
1. Evidence of successful completion of a formal course of university level physiotherapy study in addition to their physiotherapy qualification(s) gained in the Philippines. This formal study must be completed during the three years immediately prior to submitting an application for registration in New Zealand. The formal study could include Certificates of Proficiency, a Graduate Certificate, a Graduate Diploma, a Postgraduate Diploma or a Masters. This formal course of study must be completed in New Zealand, Australia, Canada or the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland),
OR
2. Evidence of FULL registration in Canada or the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and physiotherapy practice in Canada or the United Kingdom.
These applications will be assessed on a case by case basis
So, generally speaking - it does not look brilliant, but you might have a chance. The US programmes often lack the respiratory component of Physio training. So, that's another aspect to consider.
Sorry, but I don't know neither US nor Phillipino Physios in NZ.

I think the degree from the Philippines is a red herring.
You took your entry to practice level of education in the USA, and should be treated like any other person with a doctorate of Physical Therapy from the USA.
That being said, New Z does not have to accept American physios at par, for reasons already stated about Cardio resp.
I have worked in the US (my degree from Canada though) and I know that in some parts of the US they do perform Cardio resp, and Cardio resp questions were
placed throughout the written exam that I passed.
So I think your chances are 50/50

did you end up getting registered? I'm at PT in USA and would like to practice in NZ.
