eligibility to practice from country of education - can it be from another country?

I am in the process of applying for Credentialling to work in Canada. One of the documents I am required to send is a copy of my membership card or letter of eligibility to practise as a physio in the country in which I recieved my physio education. I was educated in the UK and worked there for two years until 2005. But since then I have been working as a registered physiotherapist in New Zealand. Since I am unable to contact The Alliance (closed to enquiries due to backlog until December 2011) I was wondering if anyone happened to know whether my current NZ card is sufficient, since I no longer hold my UK registration.

A longshot, I know, but hopefully someone else is in the same position.

You will have to provide proof of your eligibility to practice as a PT in the UK seeing as your entry level training was from the UK. You must have gotten an initial Registration Certificate with the HPC in the UK which allowed you to practice there initially. This should be acceptable to the Alliance as they do not require you to hold a current licence, but a proof that you are eligible for registration/licensing in your country of training. I was in a similar situation where I did not hold current licence in my country of training as I have been practising in a different country for the last 19 years. So I sent the Alliance my initial registration certificate which indicated that I am eligible to practice subject to annual registration. This was completely acceptable to the Alliance.
