Hamstring pains

Hi

I'm a sprinting and long jump athlete..About a week ago i experienced a sharp shooting pain in my left legs hammy.. it felt like a nerve pinching somewhere..
It happened a couple of times after that, but only occasionally..
I massaged it with deep heat.. but then it started paining, it doesn't pull into a spasm or something like that...
There is no swelling, or pain when i stand on it, it only comes and go... Can you please help me... :(

I'm not a physio but it could possibly be the sciatic nerve that's giving you problems. Does it go all the way up to your lower back?
