Role of physio?
WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR!!!
1. Since EECP (Enhanced External Counter Pulsation)procedure/therapy is undertaken as an outpatient session by specialists, is there any specific role of physios during or after the 35 treatment sessions (usually an hr. per day, five times a week for 7 weeks)?
2. Role of physios in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?
Any suggestion/information/reference appreciated?

Hey Taimana!
The EECP® is a revolutionary, noninvasive procedure that can reduce the symptoms of angina pectoris, presumably by increasing coronary bloodflow in ischemic areas of the heart. It is believed to create new collaterals around blocked arteries in the heart by expanding networks of tiny blood vessels that help increase blood flow to the heart muscle.
Enhanced External Counterpulsation utilizes the EECP Device to inflate and deflate a series of compressive cuffs wrapped around the patient's calves, lower thighs, and upper thighs.
however, I was wondering whether there was any role of physios before and/or after this procedure???
