Non-displaced fracture of lateral tibial plateau

Can anyone give any professional advice?...
I recently fell skiing in France (2 weeks ago) and injured my left leg: "Non-displaced fracture of lateral tibial plateau" was diagnosed. The injury was not found on either x-ray or ultra-scan, but it took a CT-scan to find.
After staying in hospital overnight I was luckily told that I didn't need surgery. The nurse said in broken English that I was lucky as it was only a small break and most people need surgery. I was strapped in in a leg brace and told not to put any weight on it.

On return to UK I booked appointment at the fracture unit at the hospital (today), to which I am a bit concerned with.

The doc took my envelope, which had everything in from the hospital in France and then asked me what had happened. I informed him the break could not be found on the x-rays that I had but only on the ct scan. He then sent me down to have more x-rays?!
After he received these back he said to me that he "couldn't see anything on the new x-rays"(I could have told him that)! And that because it showed on the scan in France he was happy to treat it as a break. He then informed me that I was to return in 3 weeks time, but in the meantime try to bend my knee 4 times daily as this will help and to continue keeping weight off of it.

What concerns me is that no scan was taken today to actually see how it is healing, and if it is healing correctly. The France hospital never said anything about bending it but to keep it in the brace.

Does anyone with any knowledge about my kind of injury have any advice?? I'm concerned about bending it in case I cause more damage and should the doctor have given advice about my injury when he hasn't seen how it is healing?
