PROM in ICU patients
Hi all,
I am a 4th physio student currently doing a research project on the effect of PROM in ICU patients. There's hardly any good quality research out there that I can find and it seems to be a very controversial area of physiotherapy with some people swearing by it and others not using it at all due to a lack of evidence.
I would be interested to get people's opinions on the topic and would really appreciate it if anyone had could point me towards some good articles.
Thanks very much.

Re: PROM in ICU patients
Hi,
your questions is as good as: "should all patients on a medical ward do ACBT?" I think you might need to define ICU patient.
E.g. what is the sedation level ?; what are the nursing procedures in regards to positioning?; are you thinking about abdominal surgery? neurosurgery? orthopaedics? paediatrics?
Just a few  questions to think about.
And in general: walk away from the prescription model ("all patients get PROM") and go towards an analytical approach (why would you want to perform PROM?, what would you like to achieve?, who would be at risk?).
Cheers,
Fyzzio
