Working in Australia...almost qualified and panicking!!
I am due to qualify from my MSc (pre reg) in Physio in September this year. I then move to Oz with my fiance who had just been offered a great job with sponsorship!
I feel I have read every forum and looked at every link and am still very confused about the registration process!!! I am more than happy (!) to take exams etc. if any one can offer any advice or any employers can give me any info it would be greatly appreciated!!! We are going to be in the Byron Bay area.
I m starting to panic that I will never actually be able to be a physio in oz!!!
thanks!!
Re: Working in Australia...almost qualified and panicking!!
Hi,
what's confusing??? You need to be registered with the Australian Physiotherapy Board. There, it says quite clearly that you have to contact the Physio Council to have your qualification assessed. They will tell you what you need to do next - noone else can. ;)
See here:
Physiotherapy Board of Australia - Overseas Practitioner Registration
And then you look here:
Overview of Assessment for Registration Purposes — Australian Physiotherapy Council
Assessment of Equivalence of Qualification — Australian Physiotherapy Council
Good luck,

Thank you for your reply. I have contacted the ACP and they made it seem all quite simple. However, after reading posts on here people seem to be having difficulty! I was interested in knowing how people get on with finding employers/mentors whilst working on Limited reg whilst waiting to take exams!
