Metal rod removed from left femur

After nearly a year and a half of the time of the accident when i broke my left femur. The metal plate and screws have been removed. i have been sent home after a night at the hospital.

Im feeling some pain at the area where they cut into my leg to take out the metal and screws. Also i cant tense the muscles round that area because it hurts alot when i move. Its been a day now and im feeling a tiny bit better.

How long before i can walk normally and tense my muscle normally without pain?
because at the moment im aloud to put full weight on my leg but im using crutches because it hurts when i move my leg.
