client with pain upper right back/shoulder
Hi all,
I am a Sports Massage Therapist, and have a client (Female, later 20's , early 30's) who has got an extremely tight right rhomboid muscle.
She complains of pain down the right arm.
I have been treating her for 6 weeks now. Treatment has been focused on massage and trigger point therapy on the rhomboid / rotator cuff / traps (once a week) and the pain goes after the treatment, however reappears a couple of days after.
I believe that this a potentially trapped nerve, caused by the tight muscle.
I have given her stretching exercises for the traps and rhomboids.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thanks
Re: client with pain upper right back/shoulder
check Cx spine for TPs/spasm and TOP. if so try to release here to, providing arm pain does not worsen. if concerned see physio to check the Cx spine and discs etc.
Re: client with pain upper right back/shoulder
Although there appears to be lots of mobility treatment, is there any stability treatment ie. endurance and strengthening exercises, postural stabilization, improved movement patters, tape for neuromuscular support and retraining?
