Hi There my name is Hasan Ali and im 23.
i have been suffering from back pain for almost 2 years now last from 3 or 4 weeks i have pain in my right leg i went to the doc he said to me to have a MRI.
what MRI says is.'' there are multilevel areas of disc is a region of disc herniation at L45 and L5S1 region with the disc at L45 having a central and bilateral para central component with bilateral neural tissue compression.
the disc at L5S1 is having central and right sided component with right sided compression to nerve root.
now doc suggest me to go down for a surgery but i don't wanna do that i just want to have your opinion what should i do in this situation plz guide me further

Re: disc herniation
Hello,
Physio can definitely help, but the physician may feel the compression on the nerve root is dangerous. Are you having changes in bowel and bladder? Having to go too much are not being able to go at all? That is life threatening. Going along with that sort of issue is numbness in the pelvic floor/genital area.
Have you lost sensation in the leg? Have you lost the ability to move the foot properly when you walk?

Re: disc herniation
thank you so much for your reply.
well the genital area or pelvic floor are ok there's nothing wrong there bur two fingers of my foot are numbed and i have difficulty in walking as well.
in the i have a very sharp king of pain in somewhere under my buttocks while i walked but now i cant feel that pain that much considering from the beginning.
im very concern about the surgery i have heard that after some of the surgery that herniation can developed again

Re: disc herniation
I completely understand your concern. Physio can definitely help with that.
I'm working with a number of people with disc issues presently and sometimes it's not about the low back at all, that's just where the problem shows up, it's about the rest of the body. In our desk working society the mid and upper back can seize and stop moving making the low back do too much. Getting a rebalance of muscles and posture retraining then eases issues with the low back. This is just one scenario that may not apply to you. Seeing a good physio can help sort out why you are having disk issues at such a young age no matter if you have the surgery or not.

Re: disc herniation
Herniated disc may occur suddenly in an event such as a fall or an accident, or may occur gradually with repetitive straining of the spine. Orthopedic surgeons can help you to recover from disc herniation.
