New Zealand Registration - Trans Tasman Agreement
Hi All,
I am new to the forum here, so apologies if this topic has been covered before, as I have heard a few conflicting stories..
As per the title of this thread I am looking for some advice/experiences as to applying to work in New Zealand - to spend some time there (6 months) and move onto Australia. I know (at least once upon a time) under the Trans Tasman agreement a New Zealand registered physio could work in Australia. The benefit of course, avoiding the APC exam. I am an Australian citizen so other things so I wonder would this weigh in my favour?
I have a contact in Australia who is adament this is still the case, but have also heard from a migration lawyer that this route has been closed in on in recent years.
Thanks for any advice.

Re: New Zealand Registration - Trans Tasman Agreement
Hi R,
if you have got Physio registration in NZ and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate, you can apply for Australian registration under the Trans Tasman Agreement.
NZ Registered Physiotherapists — Australian Physiotherapy Council
Note, that this is a professional qualification only and has got nothing to do with immigration.
Cheers,
Fyzzio
